So, I've been saying I would sign up for LJ for a few months (mostly so I can read friends-only LJ posts). So . . . here I am. It took kind of a lot to get me here, since I have had a bit of a prejudice against LJ (as a service - not LJ users) for years and years - since back in the day where one had to have a paid membership or know someone who had a paid membership in order to get a LJ account.
Thrilling, isn't it, this first entry? At least the posts here will tend toward the less geeky, since I'm no longer in grad school and waxing philosophic about intellectual property. Though I still think that the erosion of the information commons is a very important issue.
